WATERTOWN, S.D.–In previous years, there have been Watertown School Board elections where there really hasn’t been an election per se, because an incumbent or incumbents were running for re-election, but they didn’t have any opponent.
That’s not the case this year.
There are two open seats up for grabs, and four candidates running for them.
Incumbents Kari Lohr and Board Vice President Jon Iverson are running for re-election, along with challengers Zach Thompson and Brock Manzey.
Candidates had until May 10th to get their name on the ballot.
The election will be held Tuesday June 18th, with voting from 7 am to 7 pm at the Civic Arena.
The top two finishers will serve three year terms on the school board.
