Relations between South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and the state’s tribal leaders is strained to say the least.

She’s been banned by tribal councils from entering eight of the nine reservations in South Dakota after speaking out on drug cartel presence on those native lands.

Today, KWAT News visited with Noem’s Tribal Relations Secretary, Dave Flute, to discuss those relations, as well as his visit to the U.S.-Mexican border last week.
