Watertown police arrest pair for attempting to sell stolen guns

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown police arrested two people Wednesday for trying to sell stolen guns.

They were called to the 100-block of 10th Street Southwest on a report of someone trying to sell five stolen guns. The officers were given a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

Officers located the vehicle in the 300-block of 10th Street Northwest, and through their investigation determined the guns, valued at close to $8,000, had been stolen from a residence in Hamlin County.

They arrested 58 year-old Lex George and 52 year-old Kristi Baker, both of Watertown.

They’re charged with Grand Theft, Burglary and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.

Both were booked into the Codington County Jail.
