WFR Responds to a Two Vehicle Accident
On June 13th at approximately 1 p.m., Watertown Fire Rescue was dispatched to the intersection of 177th Street and 449th Avenue. Two ambulances and Engine 4 responded to the scene for the multiple vehicle accident with multiple injuries and possible fire in one of the vehicles. Upon arrival, medics tended to two occupants of one of the motor vehicles. The engine crew tended to the truck that was smoking under the hood. The hydraulic spreaders were used to access the engine compartment of the truck. No fire was found. The ambulances transported two occupants to Prairie Lakes Hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries. Other agencies on scene were South Dakota Highway Patrol, Codington County Sheriff’s Office, and Performance Towing. WFR had 3 apparatus and six personnel and was on scene for approximately 25 minutes.
